2024… Thanks for another great year!

Can you believe that it’s nearly the end of 2024? We’ve covered lots of content this year, starting with understanding the difference between correlation and causation, and we’ve moved through discussing Teams versus Zoom, appreciative inquiry, and we’ve delivered a couple of mythbuster episodes as well. We’ve covered a lot!

We’re also celebrating five years of Enablers of Change! Can you believe we launched this at the APEN conference in Darwin in 2019? It feels like a lifetime ago, because of course that was pre-COVID, and we all know time went a bit strange over that period! But we’ve been going for five years and this is our 135th episode! And we’ve still got lots of things we’d like to cover! We’ve already got episodes lined up for next year, such as understanding group stages, exploring the technology readiness level and more!

The exciting thing is that there’s still lots we’d like to talk about! We’ve also been thinking about how to help new extension practitioners come up to speed in their new roles. How can we support them to better understand extension and enable greater change? We’re going to be talking more about that next year and hopefully helping you support newcomers to enabling change.

We also want to say how much we appreciate you being part of our Enablers of Change community—listening to our podcast, reading our blog posts, or watching our YouTube videos. Most especially, thanks to all of you who comment and engage in the discussion on the blog posts. We’ve learnt heaps from the discussion after each episode, and we just want to say a special thank you to all of you who have not let this be a one way conversation!

As we head towards Christmas, we want to wish you a Merry Christmas and a great start to 2025! We’ll be back with new episodes at the end of January, and we’ll look forward to hearing from you then! Remember to subscribe to our newsletter if you’d like to know when new episodes are available. And if you liked what you heard, please tell your friends so they too can join the conversation!

Thanks team, good reads and great reference material. Always referring people to the Blog, especially the Mythbusters (and in particular the fairy-tale of ‘Learning Styles’!)

Thought you might do a Spotify-like list of most popular posts? 🙂

Thanks Aaron! Appreciate you sharing our material around!
We’ll have to put that list together – we’re looking at what’s most popular by platform as well. Watch this space!

Thanks for the blog! It is really great. I often tune in and love the coverage of extension topics and the blog formats. Very refreshing. I can certainly recommend.

Thanks for all your videos! I have collating them as a good resource to help ‘train the trainers’ with upskilling in statistics. Not exactly extension but many of the themes transfer nicely.

Thanks John and Denise. I enjoyed blog post, videos since I have joined the enablers of change. Great to learn about the extension, engaging tools both online and face to face. Along with the sticky notes easy way to get out without curl is simple and best, I have spread out this to my colleagues too. Have a great Christmas and looking forward to you in 2025 with a great and energising start. Thanks. Ramesh

John and Denise, Season’s greeting to you both.
Thanks again for your tips over 2024

Re: help new extension practitioners come up to speed in their new roles. How can we support them to better understand extension and enable greater change?

I’m a mentor in a couple of programs and I believe this would help new consultants / extension people…. but there isn’t a list of these people, that I know of. Look forward to discussing further next year.

Cheers,
